About

Hi, my name is Roland. I have a background in Computer Science and hands-on expertise in front-end software development, with a strong focus on UI/UX. I got into building interfaces at 17, teaching myself Figma, WordPress, SEO and other industry web development tools, then taking on small freelance projects prior to my degree.

Alongside my studies I've picked up real-world experience: a marketing internship at the University of Kent, an administrative role supporting a staff training platform launch at an NHS surgery, front-end consulting for Giftease Solutions, and UX/prototyping work experience with Rufus Leonard (now part of Frog).

Right now, I'm building Diluted Stories, a self-directed editorial project, to keep sharpening my design and coding skills while looking for front-end development and UI/UX roles in the UK.

    Created branded campaign assets in Figma and maintained accessible (WCAG 2.2), GDS-aligned design consistency across web, email and social channels — alongside full-time Computer Science study.

    Designed and built an e-learning website end-to-end using HTML, CSS and JavaScript, translating client requirements into a finished, accessible product. Worked directly with client stakeholders and improved SEO and page performance.

    Learned Figma from scratch and designed a high-fidelity prototype for a concept scenario: helping users find local volunteering opportunities. A design exercise, not a shipped product.
